Un peu d’histoire… La Chicha ou narguilé, Sheesha, narghile… est d’origine persane utilisée dans le monde arabe pour fumer le tabac. Les traces les plus anciennes de narguilé ont été trouvées au sud ou à l'est de l'Afrique. Des bols de narguilé ont ainsi été excavés en 1971 dans la grotte de Lalibela. Leur datation semble indiquer une utilisation datant des années 1320.
Les poteries sont réalisées avec de l’argile trouvée sur place et teintée naturellement. Les poteries de Sejnane ont une qualité et un style décoratif qui la distinguent des poteries d’autres régions de la Tunisie, très épurées et avec une forte connotation africaine.
